I arrived just before sunset and captured a few shots at that time. The highly directional light created a lot of contrast and helped capture the texture in the stonework and mountain backdrop.
As the sun set, things got really interesting. The pool lighting and fire features created very inviting scenes in every direction.
On the technical side, the photo above would not be possible without a specialized lens that can shift. For this capture the camera was placed about 8 feet above the ground and the lens was shifted down. This allowed me to include the lower portion of the scene while keeping the camera level.
