The Chapoteo Water Park in East El Paso includes a unique sculpture of Folklorico dresses. I was hired to photograph this piece.
For this project I decided to use my PhaseOne medium format system. This system is larger and heavier than my Nikon system so it forces me to slow down a bit. The resulting photos are always worth the extra effort.
For public art pieces I always try to capture a variety of far and near shots in order to show everything from the environment surrounding the piece to the details in the texture.
As with most of my projects, I always try to return at dusk to capture the scene in different lighting conditions.
