This week’s photo shows Mount Cristo Rey in the warm glow of a winter sunrise. This photo was taken from the desert area near Executive Center and Interstate 10.
Because of the distance involved, I used a 70-200 zoom lens almost at maximum zoom. At that distance, even the slightest vibration would cause the image to be blurry. A remote shutter release and mirror-up exposure delay helped keep the vibration to a minimum. The only other challenge was maintaining feeling in my fingers in the freezing weather.
